Abstract :
The aim of the study is to adapt “Mathematics Beliefs Scale” into Turkish. The scale was developed by Kloosterman and Stage in 1992 to determine students’ beliefs about mathematics and used by many researchers. The original form of scale consists 35 items with a 5- Likert-type. Turkish version of the scale was applied to 436 students selected by randomly from different kind of high schools. In the validity and reliability analysis of Turkish version, bilingual equivalence, construct and criterion validity; test-retest and internal consistency coefficients analyses were done. Based on factor analysis, four factors were obtained and they explained 55.66% of the total variance together. Cronbach alpha values of the scale were calculated as 0.88; test-re-test values were 0.87.
