  • Abstract
    This study has been carried out to assess opinions of the class teachers regarding the educational program of the traffic safety course for the primary school 4th grade. In the research, phenomenology, which is one of the qualitative research patterns, has been used. 23 class teachers serving in Karakocan district of Elazıg province constitute the study group of the research. Research data have been collected by using a questionnaire consisting of open-ended questions. Descriptive analysis is used to analyze the data. According to the findings, teachers indicated that the students gained knowledge that they would use in their daily lives from the educational program of the traffic safety course for the primary school 4th grade, gains were in accordance with the levels of the students, contents of the units and texts in the schoolbooks were suitable for the level of the students, tools used in the process of teaching and learning were insufficient, they used supplementary measurement-assessment tools (performance, project scale, portfolio, etc.), equipment related to the course must be supplied. At the end of the research, suggestions in parallel with the findings have been developed.
