The Study of Enhancement ‘Turkish Cours Attitude Scale’

The purpose of this study is to develop a measurement tool to determine the attitudes of Turkish students against the Turkish courses. First of all, for this purpose a field survey is conducted and to 1193 participants open ended questions are asked, analyzed and the item pools have been created. Questions in the item pool in accordance with the expert opinions are identified as 24 items. Pre-application has been made to 685 participants. At the end of these applications ıt has been decided to remove 2 items of 24 items in Turkish language attitude scale (TLAS) and 22 item scale has been shaped. The recent shaped scale negative items (2.4.9.10.15) will be graded in reverse. The increasing of the points means positive attitude. Statistical calculations of obtained data were analyzed with SPSS package program 21:00. After pre-application exploratory factor analysis is conducted in order to determine the relationship between the items and to understand the items which take place on the scale whether measure or not the same features. As a result of the factor analysis, KMO (Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin) sample compliance coefficient 0.79, Bartlett’s test x2 value 5738,954 and p value is found to be 0.00. KMO value’s being close to 1 shows that factor analysis of the data is adequate and appropriate. Bartlett’s sphericity test measures whether the variables are meaningful with each other or not. If p value is 0.01 and below this value ıt shows that with these data factor analysis might be done. The scale’s Cronbach alpha internal consistency reliability is 72.
