Abstract :
This research is designed in surveillance model to evaluate participation of academic staff in preparation and improvement processes carried out in Ankara, Gazi, Hacettepe and Middle East Technical Universities as a part of European University Association’s Institutional Evaluation Programme. Research sample consists of academic staff of faculties in educational, natural, health and social sciences fields. Survey questions are structured and qualitative. Chi-square test is used to control the significance of differences between groups. In order to interpret the analysis “p” significance values are used. Research results show that participation of academic staff in self-evaluation studies is very low and few of the participants have read their universities’ Institutional Evaluation Report. Academic staff in administrative positions have a higher rate of reviewing these reports.
