Abstract :
The aim of this study is to investigate the ever-changing approaches to teacher training and to assess the quality of pedagogical training from the perspectives of prospective teachers who are taking their pedagogical training. In this study, prospective teachers’ opinions about, the infrastructure facilities of the institution that offering pedagogical training certificate program, the courses in the program, the qualifications the instructors should have and implementation of the program were revealed by using triangulation method. Research data were collected by a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview form. The quantitative data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed by descriptive statistics, and the qualitative data obtained from the semi-structured interviews ware analyzed by descriptive analysis and content analysis. 100 prospective teachers from Pedagogical Formation Education at Cankiri Karatekin University participated in this study. The findings indicated that nearly half of the prospective teachers thought that the content of the courses are useful and interesting. On the other hand, the prospective teachers are mostly complaining about that some of the instructors have inadequate skills in adult training, the teaching practice lessons are ineffective, and the university does not provide well-organized education program, the buildings, equipment, and infrastructure of the institution are inadequate.
