RELATION BETWEEN WEB SURFING OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AND THEIR LONELINESS AS A LEISURE TIME ACTIVITY: A SAMPLE OF STUDENTS IN CUMHURİYET UNIVERSITY

This study is carried out to determine the relationship between loneliness and internet uses of the university students. The study group is a total of 400 students who have answered the measuring instrument studying at the University of Cumhuriyet in 2012- 2013 academic year. Questionnaires, as a measurement tool to measure the aims of their internet use, have been delivered by hand and have been ensured to fill them with the face-to-face method.The data collected via surveys have been entered into a computer and analyzed using SPSS 15.0 for Windows software environment. In the analysis of the data, as well as arithmetic mean and standard deviation, t-test analysis have been used. After the evaluation of the tables created as a result of the anaysis, the results have been discussed. As a result of the research conducted, the level of the perception of loneliness has been assessed at the same level both by men and women.
