Abstract
The present work describes the radiation effects on magneto hydrodynamic (MHD) unsteady freeconvection flow past a semi-infinite vertical plate with variable surface temperature in thepresence of transversal uniform magnetic field. The boundary layer equations are transformedinto a linear algebraic system by an implicit finite-difference method. A parametric study isperformed to illustrate the influence of radiation parameter, magnetic parameter, Prandtl numberand Schmidt number on the velocity, temperature and concentration profiles. The numericalresults reveal that the radiation has a significant influence on the velocity, temperature andconcentration profiles, skin-friction and Nusselt number.
