Abstract
Solitary rectal ulcer syndrome (SRUS) is an uncommon rectal disorder that can be present with rectal bleeding, passage of mucous and sense of incomplete evacuation. Endoscopic findings vary and can include mucosal ulceration, polypoid lesions or simply erythema. Most common symptoms were rectal bleeding, straining, and mucous discharge. Incontinence, tenesmus, pain and rectal prolapsus were less frequently. Here, we report a case of SRUS presenting with massive rectal bleeding in an elderly patient. SRUS should be taken into consideration as a cause of massive rectal bleeding.
