Abstract :
This article aims to explore the history of Islamic astronomy’s fusion in Muslims youth education at national secondary schools level. Islamic astronomy is crucial in a Muslim daily life due to four out of five pillars of Islam need to be perform according to the correct time and direction or calendar: prayer, fasting, zakah and pilgrimage. One pertinent question arises; does present curriculum transfuse the related knowledge to the students? This research scrutinizes 63 textbooks for secondary schools to get the answers. Documentation was used in data collection. Then the collected data were analyzed by using four methods i.e induktif, deductif, comparative and contents analysis. Findings are interesting. There was no subject of Islamic astronomy but there were elements of Islamic astronomy blended in textbooks without mentioning that is Islamic astronomy. It seems that the students learn the subject indirectly and unknowingly.
