Abstract
Pelvic floor disorders affect millions of women throughout the world. The prevalence of pelvic floor disorders increas with age, pelvic floor disorders affect women, their families and caregivers and society. Pelvic floor disorders are costly and dramatically affect women’s QoL. Loss of urinary / bowel control affects the social, psychological, domestic, occupational, physical, and sexual lives of women of all ages. Women who perceive incontinence as a disease and those with a higher degree of quality-of life impact are more likely to seek medical help. Women who perceive their symptoms as being moderate or severe have a signifi cantly lower quality of life. The impact of pelvic floor disorders on quality of life and sexual health can be evaluated through the use of validated. Questionnaires have been developed to measure the impact of pelvic floor disorders symptoms or treatment on quality of life and sexual health. Specialised nurses play an important roles in the care for patients with pelvic floor disorders.
