Abstract :
Utilization of new energy technologies has been received a lot of attentions towards a sustainable energy system. In recent years, policy makers have to rethink on their strategies to warrant support for private sector efforts, including funding and other incentives. Considering energy technologies in terms of the sustainability practices is a complicated task. This paper intends to select and rank a number of technologies, in the context of the Iran Technology Foresight Program from a sustainable point of view. Therefore, data envelopment analysis (DEA) approach as a multi-criteria tool has been applied for energy production technology selection. This selection decision has been made based on decision makers’ opinion in linguistic terms. To handle the subjectivity of decision makers’ assessments, fuzzy logic has been applied
