Abstract :
Thisstudywasaimedtodevelopproblem-basedpsychotropicandaddictivesubstancelearningkitstoimprovethestudents’metacognitionandconceptmastery.Thekitsweredevelopedinthreestages(define,design,develop).The“develop”stageusedthenon-equivalentcontrolgroupdesign.ThesubjectsweregradeVIIIstudentsofSMPNasima,Semarang.Thefindingsofthestudyshowedthatthedevelopedlearningkitswerevalidintheverygoodcategory.ThemasteryofconceptsandmetacognitionimprovedwithanaveragepercentageofN-gainfortheexperimentalgroupwiththehighcategory.TheresultofthequestionnairesonmetacognitionshowedtheN-gainpercentageoftheexperimentalgroupbelongingtothefaircategory.Thestudents’abilitytosolveproblemsandtheimplementationinthesmallclassandintheexperimentalgroupinthefirstandfourthmeetingswereinthegoodcategory.Thestudentsandteachergavepositiveresponsestothedevelopedlearningkitsanditsimplementationintheclass.Thefindingsshowedthattheproblem-basedlearningcanbeusedforimprovingstudents’metacognition.
