Abstract
Charles Pellat’s name is a renowned name in Arabic literature. He is a literary writer from France. Charles Pellat was active in writing texts related to Arabic literature and had produced a number of famous writings. His works received overwhelming responses and were translated into several languages from French to other languages such as Arabic and English. This study was conducted to identify his background which includes his life history and interests in the field of writing. This study also looks at the contribution of Charles Pellat to Arabic literature. Thus, this study employs qualitative method with document analysis design in the process of identifying his contributions in Arabic literature. In addition, this study also reviewed several of his biographies to study his background. This study shows that Charles Pellat has made significant contributions to the translation of Arabic literature into other languages and to producing scholarly writings about Arabic literature.
