Abstract :
After rail transportation, Metro lines in over the world were no longer only owned by the state, this transport industry has driven a revolution of restructuring in the railway industry over 20 years. Innovative ideas have been driven to strongly apply the rail transport industry every day. Power electronics, which used to be just applications for Electric power industry, has now become a major application for rail transport to become more modern and efficient in using power. New trends such as permanent magnet synchronous motors, Back-to-Back systems, or frequency converters have been discussed and observed in whole the actual field-driven high-performance motor control systems including non-speed sensing entities given. Power electronics dominate the switching field of 16.7 Hz rail supplies, typical for Central Europe, from the 50 Hz three-phase grid. Green energy with a large of DGs is using the Back-to-Back to structuring the high-quality frame and connecting to the grid. All have been used this model as a necessary defined component. Up to now, with high demand in using electric energy, not only for general purposes but also in railway industrial, Back-to-Back structurer has become the main core to set up railway’s electric drive. This paper shows the overlook in Back-to-Back structures and addresses the improving model to express the remaining higher quality for the non-ideal three-phase loads systems using active power filters algorithm. Then, with this proposed idea, the system’s electric power quality is kept in controlling the THD index around 5%, improving Power Factor, and minimized output DC voltage ripple.
