  • Abstract
The suffocating and encompassing effect of province on the intellectual is deep. In his novel Buzul Çağının Virüsü, Vüs’at O. Bener examines the problems of people in this status. In their efforts of realization, the dilemmas of Osman and Faik, the main characters of the novel, confront the reader with the axis problem of the novel. These people encompassed by conservatism can subsist by neither breaking the present system nor harmonizing with it. The novel is the adventure of the physical and psychological collapse of the individuals in this status.
