  • Abstract
    TheActivityCardSort(ACS)measuresthelevelofparticipation,asperceivedbyeachpersonwhich,unlikeotherscales,makesit bothpersonalandsignificant.However,thereisalimitationtoapplyingtheACStoSpanisholderadultsasitisrestrictedto culturallyrelevantactivitiessolelyintheUnitedStates.Therefore,theaimofthisstudywastoselectactivityitemsthatreflected Spanisholderadults’lifestylesinordertodeveloptheActivityCardSort-SpainVersion(ACS-SP).Frequently,activities performedinSpain(n=103)werelistedinaninitialdraft.TheLikertscalewasadministratedtoalargegroupofSpanish nationalsovertheageof60years(n=98)toestablishwhichtypeofactivitieswillbeeventuallyincludedintheSpanishversion. Thefinalversionwasdrawnupcomprising79activitiesdistributedbetweenfourperformanceareas.Inaddition,otheractivities thatwerenotpreviouslyincludedbyotherassessmenttoolswereconsideredandhavebeenlistedinthisreview,suchastakinga nap,goingoutforadrinkor“tapas,”orsearchingforajob.ThegradualadaptationtoACSforSpaniardswillmakeitpossible tomeasurethelevelofanindividual’sparticipationwithinacommunity.However,furtherworkonpsychometric propertiesisneeded.
