Abstract :
While ultrasound remains the method of choice for screening evaluation of the fetus, magnetic resonance imaging is playing an increasingly important role in the diagnosis central nervous system anomalies. Fetal magnetic resonance imaging is considered as a valuable second line imaging tool, not only to confirm or exclude possible lesions but also to define their full extent, aiding in their characterization, and to demonstrate associated abnormalities. Recent studies have shown that magnetic resonance imaging can add significantly to the prenatal diagnosis and management of congenital abnormalities
