Abstract :
Iskender Sayek was born in 1944. He started the primary school in Iskenderun. He attended Talas American School and Tarsus American College. He was graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his residency training in general surgery at University of New York at Buffalo. Although he was a faculty member in general surgery, he has pioneered many projects in medical education as a member of Hacettepe University and Turkish Medical Association as well. Some of his national leading projects were continuing medical education credit system and reports of undergraduate medical education in Turkish Medical Association; white coat ceremony, MDPhD program, good medical practice and medical humanities programs at Hacettepe; and accreditation of undergraduate medical education within a national platform.
