Abstract
It is clear that genetically modified foods may offer some benefits, such as having improved nutritional and organoleptic characteristics or long shelf-life. However, there is a growing concern regarding the potential risks of these foods. Although there is not strong evidence that shows genetically modified foods would be more allergenic than the corresponding conventional ones, the possibility of being allergenic of the novel protein, expressed by genetically modification, is required to be assessed the safety of genetically modified fooods using appropriate risk assessment process.
