EDITORIAL NOTE

Five papers make up this issue. The first one, titled Determinant of lntra OIC Trade; Policy or Exchange Rate, by Ahmet Suayb Gundogdu, It works out on the determinants of the recent increase in intra-OIC imports from 14.4 to 17.6 between 2002 and 2006 examines. Although the available recent literature on the subject shows that the OIC membership has not much to contribute trade between OIC member countries, the author develops one gravity modeling for the time period of 1995-2007 to study the determinant of intra-Ole trade. The second paper, titled Doha Round of WTO and the Rice Sector of Pakistan by Husna Batool, Haleema Sadia and Eatzaz Ahmad, evaluates the impactsof the trade liberalization under Doha Round on basmati rice in Pakistanusing a partial equilibrium model. Price integration analysis shows that there is a stable long-run relationship between farm gate price and wholesale price and between wholesale price and world price of basmatiand non-basmati rice.
