Abstract :
Various types of misconduct involving young people in school are truancy, smoking, theft, gangsterism and bullying to list a few. Those negative symptoms are likely to be the cause or causes of a person to involve in negative activities in future. The risked teens currently raised from a variety of perspectives are often labeled as a loose family ties, drop in the current study, the influence of peers and negative behaviors that contribute to social threat. So the objective of this paper is done to clarify the concept of youth at risk and identify the characteristics of youth at risk. This is a qualitative method of writing based on these studies and previous research through documents, journals and books related to the discussion on youth at risk. Literature is the principal methods in this paper are analyzed using inductive and deductive arguments of the Quran and Hadis to reach a firm conclusion in identifying the characteristics of youth at risk. The literature found that the characteristics of the dominant risk in adolescents at risk are those from the group who have a dysfunctional family, has a background of low socioeconomic status (SES) and does not have the support of individual and environmental factors that act as protective as a parent, family member, community member, school and religion are central in determining patterns of mind and behavior of adolescents to avoid harm.
