Abstract :
Hyalomma anatolicum excavatum Koch, 1844 is world wide in distribution and has many mammalian hosts including cow and buffalo. It is very close to H. anatolicum anatolicum, but can be separated on the shape of basis capituli, H. anatolicum is smaller in size than H. excavatum. The important morphological characters of Hyalomma anatolicum excavatum have been re-described in this paper. The sketches of capitulum, scutum, Coxae I-IV and adanal, subanal and accessory shields have also been provided. Present authors strongly encourage further investigations on this tick.
