Abstract :
Laboratory bioassays were conducted to evaluate the alone and combined effect of Grevillea robusta A., diatomaceous earth (Protect-It) and K-Obiol against Callosobruchus chinensis L. (Insecta: Coleoptera: Bruchidae). The doses rates of G. robusta 50, 100 ppm; Protect-It 250, 500 ppm and of K-Obiol 0.125, 0.25, 0.5 ppm of were used. The bioassays were conducted at 25oC and 30oC with 65% relative humidity and the data for mortality was observed after 24, 48, 72 h and 5 d. The minimum mean mortality of C. chinensis 36.97% with the application of Protect-It after 24 h; however, G. robusta gave 68.73% mortality after 5 d at 30°C. The combined effect of Protect-It, G. robusta and K-Obiol gave 100% adult mortality at 30°C and 65% r.h. No progeny was recorded in K-Obiol treated units when combined with diatomaceous earth.
