  • Abstract
The venom is one of the key-factors involved in the host regulation process by parasitic Hymenoptera. Preliminary studies were carried out to identify genes/proteins occurring in the venom blend of the mealybug parasitoid Aenasius bambawalei Hayat (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) responsible for killing of its host Phenacoccus solenopsis Tinsley (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae). In this paper, information was gathered on outcomes of A. bambawalei venom. Crude venom of the wasp was extracted and analyzed by Experion™ Automated Electrophoresis System (Bio-Rad) which employs LabChip microfluidic technology to automate protein and nucleic acid electrophoresis. Even great achievements have been made, further research is required to uncover the sophisticated bioactivity of the venom and isolate more novel toxic peptides/proteins.
