Abstract :
Electrophilic addition reaction of 4-(4-isopropyl-phenyl)-4-oxo-2-butenoic acid (1) with indole gave the corresponding 2-(1H-indol-3-yl)-4-(4-isopropyl-phenyl)-4-oxo-2-butanoic acid (2), which was cyclized with hydrazine derivatives, to give pyridazinone derivatives 3a. The behaviors of pyridazinone 3a, towards carbon electrophiles and nucleophiles have been studied. Also behavior of chloropyridazine 5 and thiono-pyridazinone 9 towards nucleophiles has been studied, by reactions of chloropyridazine 5 with hydrazine derivatives, aliphatic and aromatic amines. The Nsubstituted derivative of pyridazinone 3a was also obtained by reaction of pyridazinone with alkyl, aromatic halide. The structures of the new synthesized compounds have been established by their elemental analysis and spectral data. Some of new compounds have antibacterial activity.
