Abstract :
The ethanol and water extract of the roots of Alhagi maurorum yielded the isolation of a new aliphatic ester and a new thiophene oligomer in addition to 7-hydroxy coumarin glycoside (Umbliferone glycoside). The structures of the isolated products have been elucidated as glyceryl-n-tetracosan-17-ol -1-oate (1), umbliferone glycoside (2) and the pentamer of thiophene substituted by propyl groups at a–carbons of the two terminal thiophene ring (3) on the basis of chemical reactions and spectral analysis.
