  • Abstract
One of the serious challenges of wireless mobile ad-hoc networks is the inability to guarantee link quality of service (QoS) due to the frequent changing topology nature. To remedy this effect, this paper proposes a dynamic multipath routing protocol that is capable of choosing a better path for fulfilling different data traffic requirements. A multiple-path metrics - using weighted cost function, available bandwidth estimation and data-driven expected transmission (DDET) count – are adopted in providing the needed QoS for different traffics. The obtained results from simulations demonstrate the new method’s ability to achieve better round trip time and packet delivery ratio as perceived by the existing protocols. This work has demonstrated that an improved throughput and reduced end-to-end delay could be achieved using the multipath metrics selections to provide QoS for various traffics in mobile ad-hoc networks.
