Abstract :
Ionic liquids (ILs) are new soluble supports for organic synthesis. IL-supported 3.5- bis(hydroxymethyl)phenol was prepared in eight steps from 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid, and its structure was characterized by 1H NMR and MS-ESI.
