Abstract :
The methanol soluble part of E. wallichii collected from Malumjabbah (a northern hilly area of Pakistan) yielded a new cerebroside characterized as: 2-hydroxy-6¢, 10¢- octadecadienamide, N- [2b, 3a, 4-trihydroxy -1- (b-D-glucopyranosyl-O-methyl)- nonadecane]-6Z, 10E named wallichiioside. The structure of wallichiioside was elucidated with the aid of ID and 2D NMR techniques.
