Abstract :
Two-strand yarn spinning (Sirospun yarns) is one of the most widely used new spinning technologies, and can improve the quality of yarn by two twists: primary twist given to two substrands individually and final twist given to two substrands together, especially on reducing the yarn hairiness. During the twisting, the spinning triangle produces, and its geometry influences the quality of yarn directly. Therefore, in this paper, the effects of geometry of spinning triangle during the final twist on yarn hairiness was investigated using geometric methods for two-strand yarn spinning. Two geometric parameters of the spinning triangle: angle between two strands yarn α and horizontal offset of the twisting point to the symmetric axis of nip line d were discussed in detail respectively. It is analyzed why Two-Strand Spinning yarns have less hairiness than Ring Spun yarns, and shown that the larger the angle α is, the more reduction of hairiness is. It is also pointed out that the symmetry of the spinning triangle is benefit for hairiness reduction. Finally, the theatrical results obtained are illustrated by experiments.
