Abstract :
Archive documents undoubtedly constitute the most significant resources of Ottoman historiography. There is a very rich archive coming from the Ottoman State that had incorporated various nations for about six centuries in a vast geography outspread on the three continents of the old world. The Ottoman State placed great importance on record keeping and documentation so she left a rich archive that is composed of one hundred and fifty million documents and series of record books to the present. The documents that had been preserved in the Ottoman archive are of great importance on understanding the history of a vast geography and solving the political problems that were reflected about those places from the past to the present. Among those archive documents, Divan-ı Hümâyûn, Bâb-ı Defterî, Bâb-ı Âsafî and records and documents belonging to various branches of those institutions that creates the central organization of the Ottoman State carries the main archive identity of the state. In this study, the summaries of all the documents that are in the Nâme-i Hümâyûn record number 4 will be issued, in other respects; further information will be dug up about Nâme-i Hümâyûn records which take place at the catalogue of Divan-ı Hümâyûn records of main archive of Ottoman State.
