Erbium: YAG Laser in everyday periodontal practice.

Laser dentistry is becoming a fast growing dental discipline. Lasers are progressively being integrated in clinical protocols and Laser Periodontology has evolved through the years after a disappointing start. In fact, multiple parameters determined the possibility of using lasers in periodontal practice: nature of used lasers, form of tips, output settings, water irrigation… Nowadays, many periodontal procedures could be performed safely with an acceptable efficacy. In this article, we will review the main periodontal laser procedures, routinely performed at Nantes University Hospital.
