Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs): a note from the field.

Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) have become of increasing interest to dental professionals worldwide. While there may be controversy regarding this topic, it is widely agreed that these pathologies remain largely under-diagnosed. In an effort to shed some light on these disorders, a brief discussion of aetiology, diagnosis and possible treatments as well as a description of the leading opinions within our profession will be highlighted.
