Abstract :
Social marketing is planning and implementing of marketing programs that will lead to social change by using elements of commercial marketing. The aim of this marketing technique is to market behaviour change simply and fairly without waiting for any financial benefits carrying out the activities of the organization. Social marketing is known to be used in the public health organizations with health protection and promotion activities in the health sector.In this study, it is intended to present the importance and usage of social marketing in the health sector. For this purpose, firstly the definition, purpose of social marketing and differences and similarities with the commercial marketing was theoretically examined, and then some examples were given for the use of social marketing in the health sector.
