DRAMA IN PRESCHOOL EDUCATION AND THE ROLE OF TEACHER

The children in the preschool period are supported through the educational programs. Multi-faceted contributions to the development of children are provided through drama activities that are included in the preschool education programs. Teachers have an important role for an effective application of the drama activities when children participate and learn while having fun. It is critical that teachers have the knowledge, skills and competence in planning and implementation of drama activities in addition to being well-equipped in child development and preschool education. In this study the focus is on drama in preschool education and on the role of teacher in planning the drama activities, and consequently it offers recommendations for educators.
