Abstract :
In order to empower women in rural region, they need to be supported to reveal their potential power and use that. Empowering women in rural region is defined as the process of helping one another, sharing, increasing and developing their rights and authorities. Empowering means stuations which provide motivating, increasing of their confidence on their knowledge and skills, arousing desire of acting, believing to control the events by taking initiative, doing meaningfull and suitable jobs depending on both individual and family members’ aims for them. Thus, the most important output of empowering them is having power of making a decision basing on their knowledge and skills without getting approval of somebody. The most important term for empowerment approach is being self-sufficiency. Although all the inadequencies and problems regarding status of the woman in rural region in especially underdeveloped and developing countries, social work is important as a potential to improve their life quality and to participate in development process. In this article, it is explained the ecological model, structural model and mixed model used in social work interventions regarding empowering of the woman in rural area
