Abstract :
The present study aims to investigate the views of child development specialists serving at hospitals as regards their working environment and profession. Accordingly, the study group was comprised of 16 child development specialists serving at hospitals in Ankara city, who worked oneto- one with children and volunteered for involvement in the study. Study design was based on interview method, a qualitative research method, to attain the aims of the study and data were collected by a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers. The interview form included items as regards descriptive questions for participants, questions as regards the hospital and the unit in which the participants served, and questions with an aim to understand the views of participants as regards the working environment in hospitals, where they serve, and their occupation. As a result of the study, it was found that child development specialists serving at hospitals had a positive perception of their occupation yet their perception as regards the working environment in which they serve was negative.
