Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the time management attitudes of the family physicians working at Family Health Centers within Çankırı Public Health Directorate differ according to socio-demographic variables and how they plan and manage the time. The Time Management Scale was used to identify the Personal Information Form as means of data collection in the survey and how to plan and manage the time. Analysis of the data was done with SPSS 15.0 package program. Frequency schedules (number / percentage) for socio-demographic and descriptive data, the data obtained from the time management scale were given numbers, arithmetic mean and standard deviation values . Mann- Whitney U test and Kruskall-Wallis tests from the non-parametric tests were applied to compare the data. In the analyzes that were conducted to determine whether there was a difference between the socio-demographic characteristics of participants and time management and sub-dimensions (time schedules, time attitudes and time-consuming) family physicians attitudes and behaviors related to time management did not show any statistically significant difference according to age, education status, and total work period in their professions; but, statistically significant differences were found according to gender, marital status, duration of current task. The consequence of working with these outcomes is that the family physicians should use time management techniques to use their time more efficiently, make short and long term plans, consider the importance and urgency of tasks in order to manage time better and not fall into time traps. Family physicians should be able to use the time in an effective and efficient way in order to achieve their goals and bring health services to the future.
