Abstract :
The study was conducted on 36 local rabbits divided in to two groups, the first group was subdivided in to three groups, the first and second groups of them injected with body extract of T. canis intradermally (0.1ml and 0.2 ml respectively) while the third group injected with phosphate buffer saline and considered as control group. The second group also subdivided in to three groups, the first and second groups injected with same antigen intraperitonealy and intramuscularly in dose of 0.4 ml and 0.3ml respectively, after 14 days they reinjected by boosters dose, while the third group leaved untreated and considered as control group. Our results showed a significant difference in hypersensitivity test of immunized groups with an average of skin thickness has reached to 3.81 and 4.17 mm after 24 hours and an average of redness diameters 3.84 and 4.41mm after 24 hours in comparisons with the control group 1.36 and 0 mm. Our finding showed valid decrease in weight of liver and spleen in immunized groups and reach an average of (2.91 and 0.029 gm) and (2.89 and 0.028 gm) respectively, in comparisons with control group (3.50 and 0.042 gm). There was a significant increase of IgA and IgG levels in immunized groups and reach an average of (377.00 and 851.66 mg/dl) and (465.33 and 864.00 mg/dl) respectively, in comparisons with the control group (229.66 and 738.55 mg/dl). There was valid decrease of neutrophils numbers of immunized groups, while there was a significant increase in lymphocyte numbers of immunized group in comparisons with the control group. It was concluded from this study that immunization against body extract of Toxocara canis could induce immune response in local rabbits.
