Abstract :
Turmeric plant are obtained from steam of Curcuma longa. Its active ingredients are curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, bisdemethoxycurcumin and other components. These active ingredients are natural dyes, is one of the yellow dyes and used as curry powder or food colorant. Curcumin is also used for treatment of HIV. A developed method of isocratic mode with mobile phase mixture of methanol (MeOH) and acetonitrile (ACN) (95:5, volum ratio) containing 0.1 % acetic acid (CH3COOH), allowed for fast and efficient separation of curcumin from it s derivatives in the curcuma longa at the level 0.2 ig ml-1.
