Sejarah penulisan tafsir al-Manar karya Sayyid Muhammad Rasyid Rida

Tafsir al-Manar is a master piece of Sayyid Muhammad Rasyid Rida. It is a well known Qur’anic exegesis and has been an authoritative reference to the Muslims in order to understand the contents of the holy Qur’an and its relevency with the Muslim contemporary life. In order to produce an authentic exegesis, he spent more than 30 years and devoted his life to make it a reality. Eventually he has managed to produce the Qur’anic exegesis beginning with al-Fatihah up to surah Yusuf verse 52. Therefore, the article tries to elaborate the background and history of the emergence of this exegesis i.e. Tafsir al-Manar
