Abstract :
“C G I L” legendary colony coins dated J. Caesar period prove the existence of a third Roman colony in Troad apart from Parion and Alexandria Troas. The last letter of the legend “L” and the saying of Appian that a numerous italic-origin immigrant were placed to Lampsacus show that this colony is Lampsacus. Although it is unknown exactly how long this colony statuslasted, all the evalated data, especially Lampsacus attributed coins; indicate that the Roman colony founded in Lampsacus was short-lived.
