Abstract
A total 757 adolescents of primary school students, 487 girls and 275 boys, were included in the current study which was carried out to determine the views of the students at adolescence concerning their body image, emotional status, the interaction of their eating habits according to their gender and body mass index. A significant difference was found between agreeing status of both girl and boy adolescents on the item of “I do excessive exercises until I lose weight that I put on” (girl=1.42, boy=1.54) whereas the difference between agreeing the item “Others think that I am thin” was not found significant statistically depending on body mass index (BMI≤ 16.9 =2.39, BMI 17-22.9 =2.12, BMI ≥23 =1.55), (p .05). The requirement over the prevention of the problems determined at eating attitudes and behaviors of adolescents should be taken into consideration
