One of The Founders of Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences: Bedi Ziya Egemen

Prof. Dr. Ziya Egemen studied pedagogy masterand doctorate in Germany. In chronological order, he worked at The College of Political Sciences, Faculty of Languages, History and Geography, Faculty of Divinity, Faculty of Education (Sciences) atthe Ankara University. He published three books and seven articles. He represented Turkey in many international meetings. He madecontribution to get started first Faculty of Education in Turkey. The main axis of his educational treatises was consciousness building about education. The focal point of his educational studies is the distinction between education and pedagogy concepts. Therefore, he argued that the concept of educational sciences should be used instead of pedagogy which he found speculative.
