The Modern and Classical Expression of Love between Yûsuf and Züleyhâ

One of the most important religious and widely read examples of Classical Turkish Literature is the story of Yûsuf and Zulaikha. Comparative literary methods in terms of understanding, comprehending and interpreting our classical and modern literature may acquire multifunctional qualities. In this context, our study aims at comparing the religious oriented example of the classical Turkish literature, the story of Yûsuf and Zulaikha by Hamdullah Hamdî (d. 1503) and its modern counterpart by Nazan Bekiroğlu, Yûsuf ve Züleyhâ.
