  • Abstract
Abraham, also known as the patriarch, is a great prophet who pioneered the efforts towards establishing the doctrine of divine oneness (tawhid), thereby gaining a unique place in the hearts of the faithful. As the Qur’an openly testifies, he always believed in one deity and never attributed associates to Allah, who chose him as a messenger in the world and gave him guidance and righteousness, thus making him a leader (imam) for humanity. Abraham “was a man of truth and a prophet,” and he “was mild, imploring, and penitent.” He was a man who “showed gratitude to Allah for His favors,” and who is hospitable, a loyal man of his words, and a prophet whom Allah made a leader upon fulfilling his duties. Because of all these qualities and the struggle he put on, he is deemed an ummah by himself and was a leading personality who collected all goodness in himself. He was a great prophet for struggling against his own father first and then the ruling elite of his time about belief in God and the doctrine of Tawhid.
