Abstract :
It is generally taken for granted that noun and nominalised morphemes are predicated through four modality suffixes in Turkish grammars and the teaching of Turkish. Although the same assumption applies to all grammar studies regarding definite and indefinite past tense morphemes and conditional morphemes., the information about how nouns and nominalised morphemes are predicated in present and present progressive tenses falls short or presents variety. The latter, under the influence of Arabic language, is also called indicative morpheme. However, the term ‘ indicative’ should be handled cautiously inasmuch as all indicative forms denote tense and -D°r morpheme may be carried onto conjugated verbs in terms of modality, tense and subject pronouns. Accordingly, - D°r morpheme should be considered as a morpheme functioning under the title of reinforcement-probability category and as a copula category incorporating both noun and conjugated verbs .
