Abstract :
Köçek mostly known as “man who dances in woman dress” in Anatolia. In this terms Köçek is believed to describe the dancer and a kind of dance appeared in Ottoman palace life. However, the information about Abdals, a well known inheritent musician class in Anatolia, performing Köçek dance, forces us to consider this issue also out of Ottoman palace life. The information that “only a type of inheritent musician classes, Abdals, live also out of Anatolia” and subsequencing researches related to Abdals put forward “Köçek” is known not only in Anatolia but also Iran, Afghanistan, Endonesia and Egypt. Through this point of view it is spontaneously come out that the dances live in Anatolia should be researched by a wide sense of geographies which are believed to be related culturally.
