Abstract :
Turks, living with nature for centuries, have learned to forecast weather by examining changes in plant, sky and soil. It is an inevitable fact for mankind to take some precautions beforehand in order to survive, struggle and adapt to the nature. Turkish communities who have preferred to live unsettled for centuries created different types of calendars specific to their regions by naming natural changes that they had observed. In addition to calendars, vocabularies reaching today are as attractive as public calendars that had been revealed based on previous experiences and observations. As this field has many dimensions, we primarily focus on Kazakh calendars and identification of related vocabularies. Basically, in this research, we try to present public calendars, vocabularies, expressions and proverbs that Kazakh Turks have put forward by observing their nature.
