Abstract :
Human is a living creature who has psychological and physiological depth by his/her build. Human whose emotion and thought world is rich thanks to this specialty, centers on artistic activities and basic disciplines. Literature, and especially novel, which is an art providing to express human’s feelings and ideas by benefiting from the possibilities of language aesthetically and effectively, is interested in human and social world which human is included. Its other phenomenon is a psychologic all situation which is related to individual’s “ego”/identity structuring because every ego structures its own identity according to another identity which it is affected. Identities which are seen as “other” shape society’s national identities which they create throughout historical process. Individuals who are seen other are also subjected to marginalization. For instance, according to Turks, Mexican is someone else; Greek is other. The conscience “we”, which has been created during the construction of nation-identity, strengthens with existence of other. Un avoid ableness of this strength contains other’s unjust suffering in sociologic and historical platform. These unjust sufferings deep en by systematical assimilating activities, cultural disintegration and social exclusions. As for happening tragical situations, they subject to novels with the matical paths due to the fact that they contain conflict factor in the novel’s essence. From the novels, which are dealt by focusing image of “the other”, in Sevinç Çokum’s novel Hilal Görününcea nd Cengiz Dağcı’s novel Benim Gibi Biri Crimean Turks’; in Alev Alatlı’s novel Yaseminler Tüter mi Hâlâ? Turkish Cypriots’, in Cengiz Aytmatov’s novel Beyaz Gemi Kirghiz Turks’ assimilating activities and otherness in their own homeland attract attention. As for Fakir Baykurt’s novel Yüksek Fırınlar, which is economical-origin, cultural disintegration of Turks who immigrated to Germany is stressed in this novel. The common thing in five novels is tragedy of being seen as the other of “External Turks”. As a matter of fact, while two of novel heroes is killed, one of them is exiled, one of them suicides, and another one is assimilated by fierce of othering. Studied these novels also display Turkish world’s socio-political panorama in 19thand 20thcentury.
